Dog mauls man on floor before almost dragging him in front of train
Over the weekend, a man had a harrowing encounter with a dog that almost dragged him in front of a train, an incident captured in a viral video on X.
The incident occurred at Stratford station in East London, where the man offered assistance to a woman struggling with her two dogs. To help her, he volunteered to hold one dog on a lead while she attended to the other dog’s harness.
However, this act of kindness took a terrifying turn when the dog he was holding turned aggressive, jumping on him and causing panic on the platform. Feathers flew as the dog appeared to tear at the man’s puffer coat, leading to him falling dangerously close to the train tracks just as a DLR train approached the station.
In a state of distress, the man managed to escape the situation, urgently seeking help from those around him. Emergency services were summoned to the scene, and the situation was eventually brought under control.
Fortunately, while the man was understandably shaken, his injuries were not reported to be serious. The British Transport Police responded to the incident, stating, “Officers were alerted to a reported dog attack just after 4.30pm yesterday (10 December) at Stratford station. Officers attended, and two dogs have been taken to a secure kennel while our enquiries are ongoing.”
Despite rumors suggesting involvement of the soon-to-be-banned XL Bully breed, we understand that neither of the dogs involved in the attack belongs to this breed. This incident has sparked concerns about the presence of dogs in public spaces and the potential dangers associated with aggressive behavior.
